Overview

Consistent visual communication strengthens an organisation's credibility. You first learn vector drawing and build a mini brand guide in Illustrator, then apply it to polished layouts ready for print or digital distribution with InDesign.

Prerequisites

Regular computer use. Some Photoshop knowledge is a plus.

    Illustrator: vector drawing

    • Shapes, paths and the pen tool
    • Colours, gradients and swatches
    • Layers and organisation
  2. Day 2

    Illustrator: visual identity

    • Creating a logo and icons
    • Outlined text and typography
    • Mini brand guide and exports
  3. Day 3

    InDesign: layout

    • Documents, master pages and grids
    • Paragraph and character styles
    • Images, text wrap and tables
  4. Day 4

    InDesign: professional documents

    • Brochure and multi-page report
    • Interactive PDF and print export
    • Final project

Teaching method

Running project: an organisation's visual identity, then its brochure. Groups of up to 10 participants, in a virtual classroom or at your premises, with a practitioner trainer. For 30 days after the course, you can email your questions to the trainer.

Assessment and certificate

Initial assessment, hands-on exercises and a final quiz. Certificate of attendance; Onarcle certificate of achievement from a 70% score on the final quiz.

Price and funding

Public course price per participant, materials included. In-company (up to 10 participants, programme tailored to your needs): €5,490 excl. VAT per group. 10% discount from 3 participants from the same organisation. If your employer or a funding body will pay, contact us and we will find the right arrangement.
